What is the lymphatic system? back to top
The lymphatic or lymph system is commonly known as the body's "garbage disposal". It is also referred to as the "second circulatory system", the "immune system", and it flows throughout the entire body.
Why is it so important to maintain your lymphatic system? back to top
It is through the Lymph-system -that toxic substances move out of the body through the bloodstream. Small and medium-sized lymph vessels open into lymph nodes, which are situated in strategic positions throughout the body. When your lymph system is blocked or clogged, it creates a condition of stagnation, which promotes fatigue and ill health. Enlargement of the nodes is common in inflammation and malignant disease. Lumps, bumps, pain and swelling are symptoms of an impaired lymph system. Also, colds, flu, sinus problems, edema and excess water retention, heart disease, fibrocystic and tender breasts, cellulite, enlarged prostate, and cancer are associated with a clogged lymphatic system. The lymph system is truly the beginning and end of all disease.
How does the lymphatic system become blocked or clogged?

Unlike the circulatory system, the lymph system has no pump to keep fluid flowing. Some causes of a blocked lymph system are stress, lack of exercise, improper diet, tight fitting clothing and repressed communication.
How can lymphatic health be restored? back to top
Lymphatic health can be restored, even incases of severe impairment, with Lymphatic Drainage Therapy. Once the lymphatic system is flowing freely, it enhances recovery from any illness or disease.
Who can benefit from lymphatic drainage therapy? back to top
Women plagued by pain and inflammation associated with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, arthritis, etc; women who are menopausal, suffering with fibrocystic breasts, endometriosis or painful menses; post-mastectomy patients and post-surgery patients. Lymph therapy assists in regeneration of tissue, including burns, scars, stretch marks and wrinkles (especially on the face). Also, getting the lymphatic system running smoothly again is the key to easy weight loss and feeling great. Many experts believe that a lazy lymphatic system is directly connected to the formation of cellulite because backed-up fluid 'sticks' to fat cells…Men suffering with prostate problems also benefit greatly from lymphatic therapy.
